Background Information:

Cylindrical shank tool holders are as simple as it gets. Depending on whether there are extra shank features these items are used as tool holder extensions or static holders, with the cylindrical shank being held in between a machine spindle specific tool holder or multi-tasking tooling station, and the cutting tool.

CYL SSY Softsynchro tapping holder - With minimum length compensation. Eliminates small synchronization errors of machines. Application: Machines for direct thread cutting. Fits h9 shanks; for all tapping tools with h9 shanks. Guides coolant with up to 50 bar of pressure to the tap, without compromising length compensation. The turning movement of the spindles can be offset with the feed axis and thus synchronized. Synchronization errors are created by the dynamics of the spindle and linear drives. The tapping holder is equipped with the minimum length compensation and compensates the synchronization errors, which increase tool service life by up to 150%.

The ER tool holder system was invented by Fritz Weber, founder of Rego-Fix, and released in 1972. The ER-type system was originally used as a broom head to handle interface! The R in "ER" stands for Rego-Fix, and represents the company's modification to common "E" collet design of the early 20th century. Specifically, the modification was adding a groove to the collet which keeps it captive in the nut while installing/removing; eliminating the problem of collets getting stuck in the holders. Upon patent expiry the system was standardized in 1993 under DIN 6499 and is today the most recognizable and commonly used collet system worldwide.

The ERC is a modification of the standard ER nut to include coolant through tool capability.

Company History:

The beginning of what has become Rego-Fix was Fritz Weber founding "Fritz Weber Feinmechanik und Werkzeugbau" in Reigoldswil, Switzerland in 1950. His first serially manufactured product was a broomholder; a humble origin that has shaped the company's history for many years. By 1955 the company employed 15 people and began to venture into toolmaking, and by 1970 also had become a successful brand in cheese cutting, as well as yoghurt and gas bottling machines. In 1972 Rego-Fix invented the ER machine collet system, the innovation which would make the company world-renown. Interestingly, the mechanism for the ER collet system had been used in broom handles from the beginning, but the application to machine tools was much more important. Tool holding technology was continuously developed by the company since that moment, and has produced an additional revolutionary system, PowRgrip. Today Rego-Fix is recognized at the top level of premium brands in the machining industry.
