Background Information:
CERATIZIT’s (formerly Komet’s) patented modular ABS adapter system gives users exceptional flexibility together with fast tool changes. The system can be used with all common machine interfaces. An adapter with ABS interface must be built directly into the machine spindle. After that, users can choose from a huge range of adapters: from hydraulic chucks, short drill chucks and collet chucks through to damping elements, extensions and much more - the right, customised and modular cutting tool can be created for every requirement. Once the system with the specific interfaces has been implemented in production, the modular tools can be flexibly used on different machines. Tool changes are made easy with just a few simple steps. Besides this, the system offers exceptional clamping force and precision.
Company History:
The company is a result of the merging of Metallwerk Plansee GmbH (Austria, 1921, later 'Plansee Tizit') and CERAMETAL (Luxembourg, 1931). The name Ceratizit was created by combining their names in 2002. Both founding companies originally produced molybdenum wire and tungsten lightbulb filaments, and were pioneers in commercial cemented tungsten carbide (since as early as 1929!) and their metal working / cutting tool product lines currently add up to over 80,000 items!
