Product Features:

- Power Collet Chuck, DIN 69893-5, HSK-E50

- Chuck body fine balanced U < 1 gmm

- All functional surfaces fine machined

- More accurate than DIN

- For clamping tools with cylindrical shank in HAIMER Power Collets and ER collets according to ISO 15488.

- The Power Collet Chuck is the collet chuck for the highest machining capacity in high-speed manufacturing. The optimized design with improved construction combines high rigidity with vibration damping, therefore giving more protection to machines, spindles and cutting tools. The universal Power Collet Chuck is a unique high performance chuck that can also be used with standard collets.

- High runout accuracy: 0.003 mm at 3 × D with Haimer Power Collets

- Also for standard collets ER according to ISO 15488 (formerly DIN 6499)

- High rigidity

- Smoother running thanks to vibration absorbing geometry, therefore better surface quality and protection of tools, spindles and machines

- Increased machining capacity due to higher spindle speeds, higher feed rates and larger cutting depths

- Shorter processing times, higher machining accuracy, high clamping force

- Equally suited to high-speed manufacturing and heavy milling

- Optional: With Safe-Lock Power Collets from ER 25

- Optional: Cool Jet bores on Power Collets from ER 25 Ø 6 mm

Background Information:

The HSK system was invented in Germany in the 1990's and is now very commonly found in European machine tools and spindles. HSK stands for "Hohl Shaft Kegel" - "Hollow Shank Taper", and as the name implies this type of interface has a cavity running through it. Unlike classical 'pull-stud' designs (CAT, BT, SK etc), HSK uses an internal drawbar mechanism which results in clamping force increasing with rotational speed. Additionally, the form features dual contact; on an axial face and the cone (1:10), which puts HSK in the upper echelons of tool holder performance.

The HSK-E form is designed for extreme speeds; with all sources of unbalance removed. This type still has a ring feature for automatic tool changing, but does not have any feature for integrating RFID chips

The ER tool holder system was invented by Fritz Weber, founder of Rego-Fix, and released in 1972. The ER-type system was originally used as a broom head to handle interface! The R in "ER" stands for Rego-Fix, and represents the company's modification to common "E" collet design of the early 20th century. Specifically, the modification was adding a groove to the collet which keeps it captive in the nut while installing/removing; eliminating the problem of collets getting stuck in the holders. Upon patent expiry the system was standardized in 1993 under DIN 6499 and is today the most recognizable and commonly used collet system worldwide.

The classic ER interface, tried and true.
